Peacehaven Big Park, West Sussex
The Big park was created in response to community consultation to improve leisure facilities for the residents and visitors to Peacehaven.
The plan included improved sports facilities, skate park, a central activity hub with cafe, and open space and recreation areas suitable for all sections of the community. The creation of the Big Park in Peacehaven uncovered significant archaeological finds.
HKD were tasked with creating a display within the RIBA award-winning cafe to showcase the finds and connect visitors to the heritage of the landscape they were visiting. The approach had to be sympathetic to the landscape, architecture and operations of the cafe.
