The British Library commissioned HKD to design ‘In a Bloomsbury Square: T. S. Eliot the Publisher’. The exhibition focused on the life of T.S. Eliot during his time at Faber and Faber, as part of the publisher’s 80th year celebrations in 2009.
The Folio Gallery is a challenging space to interpret as it can be accessed from three directions and is integral to the circulation of the Library. To overcome this, HKD took the theme of a cocktail party and interwove Eliot’s story with the poets and authors he met during his time at Faber, consequently showing how he shaped the modernist movement in literature. The units held books and audio by each of the poets and writers, giving visitors a sample of their work.
