Having worked on a number of gallery designs for Thinktank, Birmingham Museum of Science, HKD were commissioned to prepare a master plan reviewing the entire museum.
The review proposed a relocation of the entrance to the ground floor (from the second floor) and planned a new circulation around the galleries that linked into a wider strategic study for central
We loved the mix of collections and hands on interactives.
And developed designs that extended the museum’s activities outside.
To confirm that the new plans worked with the collections we developed concept designs for the main galleries.
And visualised the designs for fundraising applications.
