May 2010 - Visitors flock to newly opened Pierhead Building
Nearly 10,000 visitor flocked to the Pierhead Building in its first month. Visitor and Public Information Services Manager Gwen Thomas said: “We are delighted with the number of visitors to the Pierhead since it reopened. “When we began planning the refurbishment we wanted it to inform people about its history and the history of Cardiff Bay while, at the same time, be as accessible and as flexible as possible to hold events and exhibitions. “The venue has already seen some exciting events including the very successful Pierhead Sessions which included a talk from the author and environmentalist George Monbiot. “We hope the Pierhead has begun to establish a new chapter in its lifetime and we hope even more people come to enjoy it in future.”
